  • Oktoberfest

On 17th October 1810, a royal wedding started it all. The Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and his bride Princess Therese invited to a grand celebration. Nowadays the motto for the annual Oktoberfest, the biggest festival of its kind, is beer, fun and folklore. For 16 days an exuberant atmosphere pervades the town and the Oktoberfest grounds. Brass bands are playing in the huge traditionally decorated beer tents where the strong beer and grilled chicken are some of the culinary specialties. On the fair grounds, roller coasters, numerous other rides, shooting galleries and stalls selling snacks and souvenirs are part of the entertainment. Having experienced the Oktoberfest spirit once, many visitors return every year anew.
