National Socialism in Munich
More than any other German city, Munich is closely linked to the development of
National Socialism. This dark historic time started at the end of World War I in 1918
and lasted till the end of World War II in 1945. A number of edifices and squares in
Munich refer to that period, e.g. Odeonsplatz, Koenigsplatz and nearby Fuehrer
Building, Hofbraeu Beer Hall, House of Art and Krone Circus Building.
